Chamber Music Concert 1
As you know, these concerts are a great opportunity for us to perform wind music in a variety of styles and ensemble types, and this concert is no exception. For example, our trombone quartet itself is performing a movement from Haydn's The Creation, Locus Iste by Bruckner, and Jack Gale's arrangement of Thelonius Monk's gorgeous jazz ballad 'Round Midnight. And, there's more brass from the Flagstaff Brass Quintet performing the Canadian Brass arrangement of The Saints' Hallelujah!
From the woodwind gallery, we'll be featuring Ballade pour flute et piano by Frank Martin, and a Mozart Trio for clarinets and bassoon. And, we're even inviting a few of our string friends to form a chamber orchestra in a fitting tribute to Mozart's 250th anniversary.
As you can see, the evening should satisfy fans of many kinds of music, and will certainly provide the diverse sonic colors listeners have come to expect from the Colorado Wind Ensemble.
Admission to the concert is FREE, although donations will be gratefully accepted.
