Fanfares and Finesse: A Performer’s Guide to Trumpet History and Literature
The CWE is thrilled to feature Brian Shaw of Louisiana State University as our soloist. Brian Shaw is the Carruth Associate Professor of Trumpet and Jazz Studies at LSU. He is also Principal Trumpet of the Baton Rouge Symphony, Co-Principal Trumpet of the Dallas Wind Symphony, and enjoys an international performing career on modern and Baroque trumpets. His solo recordings include redshift (accompanied by the Dallas Wind Symphony), and his 2008 Baroque CD, Virtuoso Concertos for Clarino. The CWE also welcomes the Lakewood High School Band as they join us for this concert.
