The Colorado Wind Ensemble is actively involved in working directly with students in school music programs and providing opportunities for students to become more involved in music.
As part of the partnership with Metropolitan State University of Denver, CWE provides opportunities for MSUD music students to play with CWE during our formal concert season for class credit.
The Colorado Wind Ensemble regularly works with students in regional school music programs by providing master classes, leading sectionals, sitting in with student rehearsals and performances, and working side-by-side with students in preparing and presenting concerts. Every project can be customized to provide the most benefit to your students. If you are interested in having the CWE work with your students, please contact us.
CWE musicians currently work with the Denver Public Schools Citywide Band program, the Continental League Honor Band, and the Colorado Honor Band. In the past we have worked with Westminster High School, Addenbrooke Classical Academy, Regis High School, ThunderRidge High School, Mountain Vista High School, and Green Mountain High School.

CWE Commissioning Consortium
As funding allows, the Colorado Wind Ensemble works with Colorado schools and musical organizations to establish a consortium to commission new works by respected composers. The CWE Commissioning Consortium works include Mysterious Village by Michael Colgrass, Hold This Boy and Listen by Carter Pann, and all stars are love by Steven Bryant.
